The evian x Sara Shakeel NFT artworks

Celebrating evian’s iconic heritage from the glacial rocks in the heart of the French Alps, these individually numbered 20 NFT artworks mark evian’s exciting entrance into the emerging digital art space – giving you the opportunity to discover new worlds of digital ownership.

A Sparkling Collaboration

evian has continued its sparkling creative partnership with multi- disciplinary artist and crystal lover, Sara Shakeel, following their collaboration on a dazzling pop-up immersive art installation in London to celebrate the launch of its Sparkling water earlier this year.

Together, evian and Sara Shakeel found a common love for all things sparkling as well as a shared passion for creativity and innovation, paving the way for a joint venture to create evian’s first- ever NFT artwork and give back to the next generation of future digital artists via its donation to the Somerset House Young Talent Fund.

Sara Shakeel – the sparkling artist

Sara Shakeel is a contemporary artist known for using glitter and Swarovski crystals to create both digital and physical collages on photography and three-dimensional objects.

Having spearheaded her own unique and highly sought-after digital brand and concept, the multi-hyphenate artist, creative director, collaborator and influencer has not only cultivated a globally recognisable aesthetic, but has garnered a cult following as well as a staggering mainstream audience of over 1M followers on Instagram alone

An energy-efficient blockchain

In line with evian’s sustainability commitments, we chose energy- efficient blockchain Tezos in the production of our NFT to minimise its energy footprint.

As one of the first and longest running Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchains within the NFT market, Tezos operates without the large energy requirements needed by more traditional types of blockchains.

Tezos consumes two million times less energy than Ethereum and only costs a fraction of 1 XTZ to create an NFT, having the average energy footprint of just 17 global citizens.

Using Tezos technology, we are thrilled to be able to do this in an energy-efficient way, with each NFT having less of a carbon footprint than sending an email.

Supporting the next generation of artists

evian and Sara Shakeel are proud to have partnered with the Somerset House Young Talent Fund with 100% of proceeds from the sale of the NFTs being donated directly to fund training in digital arts as well as a place for aspiring artists to work in central London, championing the next generation of artists.

Any subsequent sales on the secondary market that generate further revenue, equating to 10% of the sale price, means that evian will be able to provide long- term support to the vital charitable work done by the Somerset House Young Talent Fund.

Somerset House is home to the UK’s largest and most exciting creative community, presenting a ye ar-round dynamic cultural programme that embraces the biggest issues of our times and champions new work by emerging artists. Its Young Talent Fund supports the next generation of early career creatives and artists to fulfil their potential, providing bursaries and financial relief as well as opportunities to under-represented creatives aged 18-25 through their Upgrade Yourself programme.
